We specialise in folk arts and crafts from various parts of Asia, especially China.
By folk crafts, we mean the utilitarian hand-made products, the ordinary articles, not the creations of artists, but the work of the faithful, hardworking artisans who turn them out according to the simple, straight forward, traditional ways which have been handed down for generations. Indeed, folk crafts are the result of the collective experience and wisdom of a people and its is for this very reason they have a unique beauty of their own.
It is heartening fact that in our present age of machine, internet civilisation, we are still able to have a direct access to these fast disappearing native folk crafts. Please come and see our unusual collection of tie-dye, paste-resist-dye indigo fabrics, all kind of boxes, chests, baskets, pottery, old jewellery, tribal costumes, weavings, ikats, batiks, wood carvings, woodblock prints, paper cuts, folk toys, puppets and many others.
